Jordan

Holidays to Jordan promise historical treasures and remarkable natural attractions which compete for your attention.

Close to the capital, Amman, lie two of the best preserved cities of the Decapolis, ancient centres of Roman and Greek culture. Enjoy fabulous views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights from the hilltop ruins of Gadara, the Rose Red City of Petra has aged gracefully and has to be seen to be believed, and Jerash is undoubtedly the best preserved Roman site in Jordan, with its extensive amphitheatres and colonnades.

Aqaba is an historic port city that is now home to the country’s luxurious Red Sea resorts and boasts a mild climate and access to excellent dive sites in the Red Sea, perfect for some relaxation. The Dead Sea has the power to rejuvenate with its mineral rich waters and the resorts offer the chance to unwind after exploring this fascinating country with a dip in the buoyant salt waters, or a rejuvenating treatment at one of the modern spas lined up along the Dead Sea’s shores.

Wadi Rum may well be Jordan’s best kept secret; huge mountains rise out of the desert sand like surreal cathedrals with wind as their architects. A safari amongst the dunes and oases and the chance to meet the local Bedouin is unforgettable experience.

At Holiday World Show this year, both Trailfinders and Emirates will be offering flights to Jordan, while travel professionals from the Jordan Tourism Board will be available to share their knowledge of the country and help prospective visitors plan their trip of a lifetime!

Oman

Oman is a country with a rich heritage, a strong sense of identity, a pride in an ancient, frankincense-trading past and confidence in a highly educated future.

With an abundance of natural beauty, from spectacular mountains, wind-blown deserts and a pristine coastline, Oman is the obvious choice for those seeking out the modern face of Arabia while wanting still to sense its ancient soul. Oman's low-rise towns retain their traditional charms, and on the coast, luxury resorts rest on pristine beaches framed by majestic mountains and the sparkling Arabian Sea, making Oman a perfect destination for those looking for a relaxing beach holiday.

However, there is far more to Oman than just beautiful beaches alone. The narrow streets, vibrant souks and impressive forts of Muscat have retained much of their ancient charm, whilst inland, a dramatic landscape of mountains and gorges, dotted with lush oases and hilltop castles, fringes the majestic dunes of the Empty Quarter.

Visit Holiday World Show 2020 to speak to experts from Oman Tourism Board in order to learn more about Oman and all that it has to offer. Flights from Dublin to Muscat are available with Trailfinders, while Emirates fly to Muscat and Salalah from Dublin.

Israel

Israel is a land of dramatic contrasts, where many historic and religious treasures sit within a modern cosmopolitan country of stunning and diverse landscapes.

Travelling to Israel from Ireland will soon be much easier, as El Al begins to fly direct from Dublin to Israel as of May 2020. Your journey will start when your plane lands at Ben Gurion International Airport, located only 20 minutes from Tel Aviv and 40 minutes from Jerusalem. Find experts from the Israel Government Tourist Office at Holiday World Show who can offer you advice and guidance on planning your trip to this magical country.

Israel is nestled on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea, with 273km of beautiful golden beaches. The cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv is located on its shores, offering visitors an exciting blend of culture, nightlife, culinary excellence and of course, an amazing beach front. This modern metropolis sits right next to its elegant big sister Jaffa, with its ancient port, millennia of history and chic art scene.

To pair with Tel Aviv’s liberal, modern atmosphere is Jerusalem, the capital of Israel and spiritual centre. Jerusalem is home to the 3 monotheistic religions, making a visit to this ancient city an experience like no other. Everywhere you visit holds historic significance, and the spiritual atmosphere can be felt no matter what faith or ideology you hold.

The Israel Government Tourist Office looks forward to welcoming you to Israel – Land of Creation.

Nepal

Sandwiched between China and India, Nepal is one of the most breathtaking and beautiful places to visit on earth.

Home to majestic Mt. Everest, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, this fascinating country offers diverse landscapes, from the Himalayan Mountains in the north to the flat expansive plains in the south. Towering mountains, vibrant culture and welcoming people – Nepal is an ideal destination for adventurers and culture vultures alike.

The Nepal Himalaya is a must-see for hikers; some of the Himalaya’s most iconic and accessible hiking is on offer here, with rugged trails to Everest, the Annapurnas and beyond. Also on offer is the adrenaline rush of rafting on a roaring Nepali river, or bungee jumping into a deep Himalayan gorge. Visitors can also take part in climbing, kayaking, paragliding and mountain biking against the backdrop of some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.

Other travelers come to Nepal for a different reason – to admire the country’s many sacred sites and medieval cities. A country rich with culture and heritage, visitors can join Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims on a spiritual journey around centuries-old stupas and monasteries, or enjoy a stroll through the medieval city squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The Kathmandu Valley in particular offers a collection of stunning palaces, secluded shrines and magnificent temple art.

Nepal is also home to many wild and wonderful exotic animals, which can be found in Chitwan National Park. See rhinos, tigers, crocodiles and rare species of birds – such as the Spiny Babbler.

Why not plan the trip of a lifetime to this untouched land of richness and diversity with Wendy Wu Tours, who will be exhibiting at Holiday World Show 2020, showcasing Nepal and other magnificent destinations worldwide!
